BRIEF

Adhera Health designs solutions that support people living with one or more chronic health conditions. The platform delivers FDA approved, evidence based behavioral interventions prescribed to members and their caregivers following a diagnosis.

Adhera’s solutions combine personalized health education, stress relief techniques, and coaching modules that adapt to each individual’s journey. The behavioral design focuses on improving adherence to lifestyle and treatment recommendations by enabling people to take an active and informed role in their own care.

As Lead Designer, I was responsible for shaping both the product experience and the brand. I worked across product strategy, UX, visual design, and design systems, ensuring coherence across all touchpoints while aligning design decisions with clinical evidence, regulatory constraints, and business goals.

STRATEGY, VISION & SCOPE

I led the design of Adhera’s go to market solutions for the United States while continuously evolving and improving the European product portfolio. In parallel, I designed five condition specific solutions, an end user mobile experience, and a clinician patient dashboard.

My scope also included defining the visual and narrative direction for marketing materials and executive communication, ensuring that product, brand, and clinical credibility were consistently represented across audiences and regions.

The work required balancing innovation with trust, clarity, and responsibility in a highly sensitive health care context.

LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION

I worked as part of a highly skilled cross functional team including engineers, content specialists, clinicians, and product leaders. Together with the Product Director and CTO, I helped define priorities, align on strategic direction, and translate complex clinical requirements into meaningful and human centered experiences.

My role combined hands on design with strategic leadership, ensuring that design decisions supported both patient outcomes and long term product sustainability.

MEET ALEX

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Alex is 36 years old, married, and a mother of two young boys. She works full time as a real estate agent while caring for her family. Alex has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

She is worried about fatigue, changes to her appearance, financial pressure, and the possibility of undergoing a mastectomy. These concerns affect not only her physical health, but also her emotional wellbeing and sense of stability.

After discussing her fears with her clinician, Alex is prescribed the Adhera Health solution. The program is tailored to her personal situation and adapts as her needs change. At the same time, her care team gains access to meaningful insights into her physical and emotional state, allowing them to better support her between visits.

EXPLORE

When Alex opens the Adhera program in the morning, she is greeted with prioritized daily content designed to meet her current needs. On one day, this may be a gentle recommendation to take a short walk in a nearby park to help manage fatigue and restore energy.

The experience feels supportive rather than overwhelming, offering guidance that fits into her daily life.

LEARN MORE

Alex wants to better understand the impact of fatigue on her body and recovery. She explores educational content that helps her make sense of what she is experiencing, reduces anxiety, and reinforces the guidance provided by her clinician.

This shared understanding strengthens trust and creates continuity between clinical care and daily self management.

MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGES

Based on Alex’s reported state of mind and physical condition, the Adhera recommender system delivers personalized motivational messages. These messages acknowledge her current experience and encourage small, achievable actions that support her wellbeing.

The tone is empathetic, timely, and grounded in behavioral science.

HEALTH COLLABORATION

Before Alex’s appointment, her care team has already reviewed how she has been doing. During the visit, her oncologist arrives with actionable insights that are enriched by Alex’s own feedback.

Together, they discuss emerging symptoms and agree on a clear action plan. This collaborative approach helps Alex feel seen, supported, and actively involved in her care.
